The RBWM planning team have been made aware. The larger building, a hay barn, was refused permission by RBWM in 2023 under application 23/01985/AGDET, but it has been erected using permission under the Agricultural Act. The council’s planning enforcement and legal teams are investigating how that Act, together with earlier refusal, fit together. Feel free to submit y our Thoughts, Poems, Requests or anything you like to the Cookham Webmaster 6 July 2026 - Happy Birthday Stanley On Tuesday 30th June, to celebrate Sir Stanley Spencer's birthday, volunteers at the Stanley Spencer Gallery visited Sandham where Spencer painted his masterpiece at Sandham Memorial Chapel in Burghclere, Hampshire, These paintings are widely considered a 20th-century British masterpiece. Painted between 1927 and 1932, the 19 epic canvases depict the daily lives of soldiers and medical orderlies during World War I rather than scenes of combat. Pauline from Sandham said “it was lovely to welcome Cookham colleagues to Sandham and I’m pleased you had a good time. I know the Sandham team really enjoyed the afternoon.” Everyone singing happy birthday to Stanley together was definitely a highlight! ...
